Greetings!

Rick Tamno serves as the Principal Consultant of Tamno Globalectics Policy and Literacy LLC where his work centers on advancing literacy equity, global education, youth development, and community-centered policy initiatives, with experience spanning nonprofit leadership, international development, and educational advocacy.

 

Guided by a globalectic framework that values reciprocal learning, African-centered educational perspectives, and cross-cultural collaboration,  Tamno works with government agencies, international nonprofits stakeholders, and educational institutions to develop strategic initiatives that expand educational opportunity and promote sustainable community impact. 

 

As a  doctoral scholar at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education, Tamno's research focuses on the ways literacy, culture, and global learning intersect to empower young people and transform communities. ​Professionally, Tamno contributed to international development efforts through his tenure at Global Refuge, supporting initiatives that uplift immigrant and refugee communities through culturally responsive engagement and humanitarian service.

Tamno is also the Founder and Executive Director of the J.C. Tamno Books Foundation, a literacy-focused nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing educational equity through book access, youth authorship initiatives, and global literacy engagement.
